1. What this site does not use
Apart from the Google Analytics cookies described below, which are set only if you allow them, no page on encore-mena.com sets a cookie. There is no advertising pixel, no embedded video and no third-party font service. Fonts are served from this domain. Apart from the visit counter, Google Analytics and the map described below, every request a page makes goes to encore-mena.com and nowhere else.
If that changes — for example if Encore adds an advertising pixel — this page will be updated first, and the cookie notice will ask again before anything that needs your consent loads. A yes given today does not cover anything added later.
2. How visits are counted
Every page loads one small script from analytics.nextgensoft.co. It is Umami, open-source analytics that Encore's developers run on a server they rent — not a service of Google, Meta or any advertising company. What it collects is seen by Encore and by the developers who run it, and by no one else.
It sends the address of the page, including any campaign tags in it, the page's title, the page you came from, your screen size and your browser's language. The request itself carries your IP address and browser type, as every request on the web does; from those the server notes the browser, operating system, device type and the country, region and city, and the IP address itself is not stored. To tell one visit from the next it keeps a pseudonymous identifier made by hashing the address and browser details with a key that changes every month, so visits from the same connection are grouped for that month, but the identifier is not linked to your name or to anything you type here. No cookie is set and nothing is written to your browser.
Encore uses this to see which pages are read and where readers arrive from, and for nothing else. Because it stores nothing on your device and does not know who you are, the cookie notice does not ask about it. If you would rather not be counted at all, a content blocker that stops analytics.nextgensoft.co removes it, and the rest of the site works exactly as before.
3. Google Analytics
Every page also loads Google Analytics 4 from googletagmanager.com, a service of Google. It reports the page you are on, the page you came from, your browser, device, screen size, language and approximate location, and how you move through the site. Google receives your IP address with each request, as every server does, and does not log or store it; it uses it only to work out a country and city. Encore sees these figures as totals and does not use them to identify anyone. Google processes them under the Google privacy policy and its note on data from partner sites, possibly on servers outside the UAE.
Until you allow analytics, it runs in Google's consent mode: it sends the same kind of report but without cookies or any identifier, so each page view stands alone. If you allow analytics, it sets two first-party cookies on encore-mena.com, _ga and _ga_KG2P4D2VBN, which hold a random identifier so that the pages of one visit, and repeat visits from the same browser, are counted together. They last up to two years. Advertising features — remarketing, ad personalisation, sharing with Google Ads — are switched off whatever you choose.
Saying no later deletes those cookies from your browser on the spot. A content blocker that stops googletagmanager.com and google-analytics.com removes Google Analytics altogether, and the rest of the site works exactly as before.
4. The Google map
The Contact page shows our office on a map from Google Maps. Until the map loads, the box it sits in is drawn by this site and nothing is requested from Google.
It loads in one of two ways: you press Show the map, or you have allowed external content, in which case it loads as soon as you open the page. From that moment the map is a frame served by google.com. Google receives your IP address and browser details, as it does on any site that shows its maps, and may set its own cookies under the Google privacy policy and its note on how Google uses cookies. Encore receives nothing from that exchange.
The Directions and Open in Google Maps links beside the map open the same pin on Google's own site. Like every other outbound link here, they load nothing until they are clicked.
5. Cookie settings
On your first visit a notice asks about two things: analytics, whether Google Analytics may set its cookies, and external content, whether the map may load by itself. Accept allows both. Reject refuses both: visits are then counted without cookies, and the map waits for a click, every time. Rejecting costs you one click on the Contact page and nothing else. Settings lets you choose each one separately.
Your answer is kept in your own browser, as described below, and you can change it whenever you like: open the cookie settings, or use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. Switching analytics off deletes its cookies at once. Switching external content off stops the map loading by itself from then on; cookies Google set on google.com while the map was showing stay there until you remove them.
6. What is stored in your browser
Besides the Google Analytics cookies above, if you allowed them, three values are saved by your browser so the site behaves the way you left it. None is a cookie: none is sent to our server, and none can be read by any other website.
- encore-theme — stored in localStorage. Records whether you chose the light or dark theme, so the site does not flip back on your next visit. Written only when you use the theme switch.
- encore-intro — stored in sessionStorage. Records that you have already seen the opening animation, so it does not replay on every page. Deleted automatically when you close the tab.
- encore-consent — stored in localStorage. Records your answer to the cookie notice: whether Google Analytics may set cookies and whether external content may load, the date you answered, and which version of the question you were asked. Written only when you answer. If the question ever changes, the version moves on and you are asked again, rather than an old answer being read as consent to something you were never shown.
Each holds a short piece of text and nothing else — no identifier, no history, nothing that can be linked to you.
The enquiry form adds nothing to this list. It writes no cookie and saves no draft, so what you type is gone the moment you reload the page — and what happens to it once you send it is in the privacy policy.
7. How to remove them
Clearing site data for encore-mena.com in your browser settings removes all three immediately, along with any Google Analytics cookies; with encore-consent gone, the notice asks again on your next visit. Private or incognito browsing discards them when the window closes. Removing them costs you nothing except the theme you picked.
Cookies Google set while the map was showing belong to google.com, not to this site, so clearing encore-mena.com leaves them in place. Remove them in your browser's settings for google.com.
8. Advertising we run elsewhere
Encore runs advertising campaigns on platforms such as Meta, Google and LinkedIn, for clients and for itself. Those campaigns are measured inside those platforms, under their own terms and their own privacy policies. None of that measurement happens on this website: Google Analytics here runs with its advertising features off, and visiting this website does not add you to any advertising audience.
